Julianna Ramirez
Every goal i chase, im hyped, im free,
Happiness is the word.
All you see is
the people i love and care about,
Family and friends.
We are running, laughing, yelling out
loud , dribbling together, im proud
Score or not, i don’t care. It’s us,
The game, and the epic stares.
Legs are burning, im soaked in sweat,
But with my people no regrets.
My name is Julianna, and I’m a senior at White Bear Lake High School.
I wrote this poem thinking about my family.
When I play soccer, I’m not just playing a game
I’m surrounded by the people I love most.
It’s mostly my family.
And when we’re on the field together,
I feel a deep connection, a bond, a rhythm.
Se me llena el corazón con alegría.
When we play, I notice people watching us.
Maybe they like what they see
Maybe it’s because they see something familiar
Maybe it’s the joy we radiate.
Latinos, united, laughing, playing, thriving.
And honestly? We’re pretty good, too.
